A Benefit for the residents of Rockaway Beach and Staten Island, NY

As you know, Tropical Storm Sandy wreaked havoc on the citizens of the east coast. Some of our friends in New York were hit very hard. We are having a goods drive this weekend in the San Fernando Valley, Long Beach, South Orange County and San Diego to help our friends start the recovery process.

We've asked our friends to go around their neighborhoods and ask what people specifically need. Here's the list of what has been asked for:

Winter Coats- Kids and Adults
Baby formula and diapers
Cleaning supplies and tools (sponges, cloths, brushes, etc.)
Waterproof shoes
Latex gloves and working gloves
Heavy duty extension cords/power strips/
Lights (to plug in)
Batteries- The need a lot of these
duct tape
Contractor-sized trash bags
Personal care items (Razors, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Hair brushes, etc.)
Handy wipes
Any kind of Packaged food
Blankets, socks, underwear, jackets

We are also asking people to donate at least five dollars each to help pay for the shipping cost. Any extra money will go to the Red Cross.
